A10 LIMBS AS IRREGULAR SHAPES REVOLVING AROUND A PIVOT

===================

Models of different parts of the human body cut from cardboard can revolve around pivots at one point and are kept horizontal by hanging them from spring balances at another point. If we load the models with weights the balances exert extra forces to restore equilibrium.
The extra forces and the torques involved allow to understand how muscles work.
